Hello

My name is Sierra and I am an 18-year-old photographer from Whitby, Ontario.  For the past 2 years, I have been taking a Phogorpahy class to improve upon my skills. I have always been drawn to photography and was thrilled when I learned I could take a course in it. I don't have a specific style of photography that I generally shoot but I do enjoy street photography a lot.

Artist Statment

When I take photos, my primary focus is to highlight the often-overlooked details that surround us. My work is driven by a desire to bring attention to the subtle nuances that typically go unnoticed. Whether it’s the delicate shine of a ring catching the light or the fleeting emotions reflected on someone’s face, I strive to capture these moments with precision and empathy.

In an age where we are constantly bombarded with overwhelming stimuli, my photography aims to slow down time and invite viewers to pause and appreciate the finer details of life. I believe that beauty lies in the minutiae and that by drawing attention to these elements, we can cultivate a deeper appreciation for the world around us.

Every photograph is an exploration of the unseen, a journey into the intricate patterns and textures that make up our everyday experiences. Through my lens, I endeavour to tell stories that resonate on a personal level, evoking emotions and sparking curiosity. By focusing on these small yet significant aspects, I hope to create a connection between the viewer and the subject, fostering a sense of wonder and appreciation for the unnoticed beauty that surrounds us.
